JUNE 2003 — We’re still reeling from the tempestuous effects of May’s two eclipses– a full moon in Scorpio, sign of death and transformation on the 15th, and a new moon in Gemini, sign of communication and mental processes, on the31st. Eclipses shake our foundations and provoke change. Mercury is finally direct , having been retrograde between April 26th and May 20th. So, work out your “stuff”, let go of what’s needed, practice communication and feel free to initiate new beginnings.
We’re still reeling from the tempestuous effects of May’s two eclipses– a full moon in Scorpio, sign of death and transformation on the 15th, and a new moon in Gemini, sign of communication and mental processes, on the31st. Eclipses shake our foundations and provoke change. Mercury is finally direct , having been retrograde between April 26th and May 20th. So, work out your “stuff”, let go of what’s needed, practice communication and feel free to initiate new beginnings.
June begins with an emphasis on earth and air. Practicality meets the analytical mind. Comfort co-mingles with social life. Baking and gardening become works of art.
Mercury and Venus are conjunct in Taurus, normally placid, are both square (90 degrees away from) Mars in Aquarius. Mars can detract from the serenity of Taurus, creating tension, obstacles and anger. However, part of the function of Mars in Aquarius would be to knock us out of our comfort zones. So, we might go kicking and screaming, but we’ll quite likely try new ideas, new schedules, new hairdressers, new social venues and much more this month.
The first week of the month, having followed the 31st’s new moon, will likely be concerned with new beginnings and projects. Many of us will re-work scheduling. Saturn certainly has something new for us, as He moves into the sign of Cancer after a 2 and ½ year stay in Gemini. Saturn sets responsibilities, and Cancer rules the emotions, the home and hearth, the family. So, there should be more focus on domestic affairs for a couple of years. Many of us will hold on to our homes rather than move just now. Many will find that their emotions have begun to rule them and will seek to remove psychological blocks with professional help.
The second week of June, Venus moves into breezy, extroverted, idea-oriented Gemini. Mercury follows on the 12th. Their square to retrograde Uranus can put a kink into friendships, love relationships and schedules. However, the same aspect stimulates unexpected pairings and friendships, as well as brings in ingenious ideas. Drive a little more carefully, monitor any out-of-left-field relationship opportunities, and be open to inspiration!
At the same time, we are building up to a full moon in Sagittarius on the 14th. Usually the atmosphere heats up three or so days before the full moon actually occurs. Certainly, this full moon can incite changeableness, fierce feelings and passions, and depression. Attempt to keep the “big picture” in mind as you navigate this moon.
Mars moves into Pisces the 16th, drawing us to the water, the arts and dreaming. Science-fiction movies, fantasy, and romance should do well at the box office. Mars in Pisces is laid back, even passive, so folks won’t be as confrontational as they have been with Mars in Aquarius. Many will desire to be left alone to dream, and will avoid fights and debates.
The Summer Solstice occurs at 3:11 PM EST on the 21st of June. The Sun and Mars will trine (120 degrees away from each other) late June, helping us to get things done, to nurture each other, and to throw off any physical ailments.
The 24th has got to be a day for the record books, as it is absolutely chockfull of planetary aspects (geometric interplay between the planets). This day could provide a valuable bridge between your old life and your new one, old habits and thinking and more contemporary ways of being. Pay attention to what happens on this day! How can you segue into a new, productive lifestyle? Saturn and Uranus can show you how today!
Mercury moves into Cancer, a water sign, on the 29th. So, much of the air emphasis has shifted to water by late June. Water is creative, emotional, and spiritual. Cancer is nurturing, domestic and self-protective, as well as moody. Our minds wander back to the past, to family and history. We may tend to remember mistakes of the past, too, but let’s forgive ourselves for those. The same day brings us the new moon in Cancer at 2:39 PM EST. Take responsibility, stay your course, throw your energy and good vibes into all that you do!

Horoscope for Each Sign (read your ascendant, too, if you know that).
Aries (MAR 20 - APR 20):
How to make money and still co-operate and harmonize with others seems to demand your attention. You’ll be on your toes, dealing with the unexpected at times, and need to be mentally aware and creatively flexible. Run errands, catch up on reading and letter-writing, get your schedule set up to serve you best. Those of you born early in the period may “bottom out” emotionally somewhat late June. Spend time in your home, re-centering and nurturing yourself . This will help you to bounce back fast! Those of you born between the 2d and 5th of April get a wonderful boost from Jupiter, bringing optimism, cheer, expansion and possibly luck.
BACK TO TOP Taurus (APR 21 - MAY 21):
Folks find you irresistible, perhaps too much so! You may be in so much demand that you’ll just have to prioritize the best you can. Odd happenings at work or within the family call for quick but thorough thinking. A loving, supportive but firm stance is probably the best. How to keep the money coming in despite these tests will take ingenuity. Those born around the 2d through 5th of May will be particularly busy with home and family. Take extra care so as to avoid accidents, such as spilling paint, knocking over furnishings, or cooking mishaps.
BACK TO TOP Gemini (MAY 22 - JUN 21):
You should be feeling great, but there are issues bubbling under the surface that distract you. Friendship, health, religion, travel or sports could be just some of the areas requiring questing and patience. Who are your friends, really? What do you really believe, what do you want from a church or religious group, and do you “walk the walk”? Are you really go to get to take that trip or win that race? Do you wish to shine alone or within a group? These are just some typical scenarios that might spring up. Full moon time, the 11th- 15th, can raise tension relationship-wise. Also, the many sides of your nature need to be balanced!
BACK TO TOP Cancer (JUN 22 - JUL 22):
Many of you are in a more restful phase until the Sun enters your sign on the 21st. However, others may require assistance from you, and you’re loathe to turn them down. Just be aware of your limits! You’re definitely turning a corner, letting go of the old to make way for the new, strengthening your interest in goals that are most likely to work for you. Those of you born the first three days of the period will feel Saturn’s entrance into your sign. Saturn is a somewhat heavy vibration, presenting obstacles and changes to learn and grow. Certainly, maturity and a sense of responsibility are called for. Know that any feelings of depression are likely to pass quickly. If it lingers, seek professional help.
BACK TO TOP Leo (JUL 23 - AUG 22):
You’re moving toward your goals diligently. Your mind is one your work and family, although someone may be trying very hard to distract you from that! Strive to stay grounded amidst distractions. Try something new with a group or your mate. A class that nurtures your creativity could be quite stimulating for you! Those of you born around the 5th of August get a nice boost from Jupiter, planet of optimism and expansion. Your appetite is up, your mood is too, and travel and athletics appeal to you .Life is a big, juicy apple!
BACK TO TOP Virgo (AUG 23 - SEPT 22):
You’re extremely busy, perhaps trying to balance money-making with a hobby or health situation. Balance practicality and common sense with a bit of alternative thinking. Career and family are of utmost concern most of June, with a possible crisis around the full moon on the 14th. However, mid-month and later seem to offer opportunities for socializing, the arts and friendships. Try something new around that time, you’ll be mentally stimulated and refreshed by an unfamiliar activity.
BACK TO TOP Libra (SEPT 23 - OCT 22):
Travel, sports, gardening, camping and spiritual interests capture your attention the most this month. Balancing the checkbook and investments are certainly always an issue, and how much money you spend on your partner can complicate the picture even more. Oh, for a nice spiritual or natural retreat, away from all of these worldly concerns! Your star is beginning to rise where career is concerned, starting on the 21st. Take advantage of the growing energy in that direction, which should build even into July. Many of you will benefit from your hard work!
BACK TO TOP Scorpio (OCT 23 - NOV 22):
You’re making difficult adjustments within relationships, and your emotions are involved. Perhaps certain family members complicate the situation as well. The advice of a friend or professional could be helpful, although you’re not normally inclined to spill the beans. Even a book from the New Age or Psychology section could be of use. It’s a time of letting go for you, dumping the old, getting rid of the unnecessary. You begin to breathe a little more easily as planets ease into water signs, beginning with Mars on the 16th and ending with Mercury on the 30th.
BACK TO TOP Sagittarius (NOV 22 - DEC 19):
Relationships, social life and balancing yourself within are primary concerns. The full moon on the 14th will intensify anything that’s going on of this nature. You might find that your significant other, business partner or even an adversary have a change of heart just now. It may be a good change, or may work against you–let’s hope for the best! It’s a more social time, yet work or health may detract from the fun at times. Health does need attention. Simply eating less sugar and processed foods could help considerably this month. Those born around the beginning of the Sagittarian period will notice a draw to home and the water late month.
BACK TO TOP Capricorn (DEC 20 - JAN 19):
Early June, work is very demanding for you. It will be important to set priorities and let go of the unimportant things. Loved ones may demand that you spend more money on them – try not to react emotionally – give the request reasonable consideration. Especially around the end of the month’s new moon, you may decide to take on more responsibility for a loved one, social group, artistic undertaking or some other entity.
BACK TO TOP Aquarius (JAN 20 - FEB 19):
You really want to have fun right now, but domestic/family concerns or emotional issues seem to distract you from that which you want. Or, you’re fighting an internal struggle that prevents you from moving in the right directions. Reward yourself with a little fun. Include the kids if you have them. Watch your temper carefully through the 15th. If you pay attention to yourself, you can avoid feeling picked on. For those born around February 3d, Jupiter blesses a mate–or perhaps brings one to you.
BACK TO TOP Pisces (FEB 20 - MAR 19):
You’re very busy and in demand. You may resent this a little, as you feel you need more rest, more meditation, and more time in which to complete personal errands and tasks. Do pay attention to your home, repairs and housecleaning especially. Honor family members with a small gathering, sweet note or small gift. Watch temper and impatience after Mars enters your sign on the 16th.
