    Aries | Taurus | Gemini | Cancer | Leo | Virgo | Libra | Scorpio
    Sagittarius | Capricorn | Aquarius | Pisces
January 2004 — PLANETARY PICTURE FOR ALL SIGNS:  Cautious, discreet Capricorn (the Sun) battles it out with rash, direct Aries vibes (Mars). Early January. Thus, timing can be an issue for all of us–whether to stop, go or stand still. Use your intuitive senses for a guideline. If you are a cardinal sign–Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn–you will notice this most strongly. Mercury is still retrograde, now in Sagittarius–not a very focused combination! Mutable signs–Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces–may be particularly confused or derailed until Mercury returns to direct motion on the 6th of the month. Jupiter and Saturn, both in retrograde all month, would caution careful expansion, using the past and common sense as your tools. Cancerians may particularly notice an inward motion on their part–sort of a settling down for the winter feeling. Capricorns’ partners can exhibit this behavior. Uranus is back into Pisces after a walk back into Aquarius. This will be about a seven-year cycle, and can bring about profound spiritual changes on a mass scale. Uranus and Neptune, however, may also contribute to any epidemic energy already in swing.

The full moon occurs at 16 degrees Cancer at 10:40 AM EST on January 7th. This would be a particularly potent moon for  Cancerians and Capricorns, or for anyone with any planet around 16 degrees of either sign. Feelings can be quite intense up  ‘til 3:00 PM, then a moon sextile Jupiter followed by a moon void-of-course can lead up to an optimistic tone. Greed and selfishness can turn to generosity pretty easily under a Jupiter aspect!

Mercury enters Capricorn on the 14th– a good vibe for family, historical research, antique hunting and gemology. Venus enters Pisces on the same day, harkening a time for soul-searching, sacrifice and compassion in matters of love. Many of us will seek to bring a difficult romantic cycle to an end so that a new beginning can blossom. Some will end the relationship rather than to do the work entailed, or for common-sense reasons. This month is already a bit of a hard time for early Pisceans and Virgoans because of Uranus in Pisces, so Venus here can stir the pot romantically. Chaos, the unexpected, and rash behavior is more commonplace this month with those two signs.

The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th this year. Often the weather goes crazy around this passage! Winds, shattering cold and electrically charged air are the norm. Of course, Aquarius is associated with friendships, groups, humanitarian activities, the unexpected, wildness and rebelliousness. The new moon follows at 1 degree Aquarius at 4:05 PM Est the next day. There is a rebellious or impatient energy in the air, but we strive to be responsible to those for whom we care. A late-night Mercury/Saturn opposition can cause a desire to lighten up our schedules. Possible harsh words will look more forgivable in the light of the new day. Fixed signs–Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius–will especially resonate to this new moon, and wish to embark on a new beginning at this time!

    VOID-OF-COURSE MOON TIMES:
